Job description
Prepare tasty dishes together with colleagues at Van der Valk Texel- De Koog. As Zelfstandig Werkend Kok, you will be responsible for orders from our restaurant where no fewer than 40 tables are set up! You will also help prepare planned buffets. Fortunately, you do not do this alone and there is a team around you. Your goal is to put a smile on the guest's face every working day.
The family business Van der Valk stands for friendly service with a surprising interpretation. Surprisingly natural. As an Independent Working Chef, you play an important role in living up to our motto. You do this by ensuring that dishes always leave the kitchen with the same quality. Then the guest will gladly come back to enjoy your delicious dishes again! We currently have a position available in the kitchen for 32 to 38 hours per week (4 or 5 working days). What will you be doing?
Preparing dishes from our lunch and dinner menu;
Preparing buffets;
You will actively think about innovations on the menu and presentation of dishes;
You will be responsible for quality checks on ingredients and preparations;
Managing the receipt, storage and quality of ordered products;
Together with colleagues, you ensure that HACCP guidelines are always followed;
Do you already have leadership experience? Then you will also have the opportunity to lead junior kitchen staff and apprentices.
Requirements
MBO level 3 working and thinking level, experience as an independent working cook, and an apprenticeship diploma is a nice touch;
You enjoy providing input for new dishes and compiling the menu;
With your passion for cooking, you enjoy turning every dish into something beautiful;
Besides your enthusiasm, you describe yourself as stress-resistant, creative and collegial;
You are flexible, also on weekends, evenings and holidays.
